Ensemble Variances gives the inaugural concert of its residency at Bristol, including two works by composers from the department. The Ensemble, directed by pianist Thierry Pécou, comprises high-level soloists in various contemporary genres. It has been awarded the Diapason d’Or for its recording Tremendum (Harmonia mundi) and has appeared throughout France as well as in Hong Kong, Mexico, Germany, Canada, the USA, and the UK.
